On September 12, 2025, Kyburz Sapphire celebrated its 75th anniversary together with employees, former colleagues, business partners, and family members.
The company opened its doors in Safnern in the afternoon. During a tour of the production facilities, numerous visitors took the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating world of sapphire processing. At various stations, employees explained the individual steps of the manufacturing process and answered many interested questions. Particularly impressive was the 300-kilogram sapphire blank from Galaxy Crystal (Switzerland) AG, which amazed the guests. Afterwards, a delicious aperitif was served, inviting guests to linger and chat. The blackjack table also contributed to the cheerful atmosphere.
Celebratory evening in the anniversary tent
In the evening, the invited guests moved to the marquee. The catering provided by “roh & nobel” treated everyone to a tavolata of fine appetizers before Gregor Kyburz and Lea Unterrassner-Kyburz took them on an atmospheric journey through the past 75 years with a series of pictures. They recalled not only milestones in the company’s history, but also surprising episodes – such as the former idea of setting up their own sapphire farm in an old bunker in the surrounding forests.
After a varied main course, the invited guests were surprised with a musical interlude by two Swiss musicians, providing a musical highlight with their dulcimer and piano. Their virtuoso blend of tradition and boogie-woogie thrilled the audience. A delicious dessert rounded off the festive evening.
